ai image detector
Is this image AI‑made?
Drop any picture. We read its hidden data, run a pixel lab in your browser and ask free cloud detectors for a second opinion, then show you every clue, not just a number.
What we found in the file
Cloud detectors
Pixel lab (for your own eyes)
The lab is not part of the score. It is uncalibrated and meant for human review.
How it works
Three layers, so one weak signal never decides alone.
Read the file
We open the image bytes in your browser and look for AI labels, generation settings and signed Content Credentials. Nothing is uploaded for this step.
Ask the detectors
Optionally, the image goes through our own Cloudflare Worker to free detector APIs that return an AI probability. Repeat images are cached, so they never use quota twice.
Explain the result
You get the score, the reasons behind it, and two visual maps to inspect yourself. A label found inside the file always outranks a guess.
What gets checked
Every clue is listed in the result so you can judge it yourself.
Declared AI origin
IPTC “trained algorithmic media” tags and generator names such as Midjourney, DALL·E, Firefly and NovelAI.
Own scannerGeneration settings
Prompt, sampler, steps and CFG saved by Stable Diffusion front-ends, plus ComfyUI workflows.
Own scannerContent Credentials
Detects C2PA manifests, the signed history that some cameras, editors and AI tools attach.
Own scannerCamera data
Make, model, exposure, ISO and lens in EXIF. Real photos usually have them, but they can be faked.
Own scannerDetector score
Probability from free image-forensics APIs, combined into one number when more than one answers.
Free cloud APIsPixel lab
Error level and noise maps drawn in your browser, so you can see suspicious smoothness or edits.
In your browserNo detector is perfect. We say so.
AI images can be cropped, screenshotted or re-saved, which erases labels. Real photos can be heavily edited and look synthetic to a model. Treat the score as evidence, never as a verdict about a person or a claim.
When the free cloud quota for the day is used up, the tool still works: the file scan and the pixel lab are unlimited and run on your device.
Questions
Short answers about privacy, accuracy and limits.
Is my image stored?
The file scan and pixel lab never leave your browser. If the cloud check is on, the image is sent once to our Worker and on to the detector, and only the result is cached under a fingerprint of the image. The image itself is not kept by the Worker.
Why does it say “No AI label found”?
Most platforms strip metadata when you upload. A missing label is normal and proves nothing either way. Turn on the cloud check for a probability.
Why is there a daily limit on the cloud check?
We use detector APIs that are free for good, which come with fixed monthly allowances. A daily cap keeps the service available all month. Results for images already checked are returned instantly and do not use the cap.
What file types and sizes work?
JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF up to 25 MB. Files over 4 MB are scaled down for the cloud step only; the local scan always reads the original.
Can it detect AI video or audio?
Not yet. This tool is built for still images.
